Empire Pipe and Supply: A Look Back
Empire Pipe & Supply was founded in 1972 in Birmingham, Alabama by Cullom Walker, Jr. The business was centered in waterworks and natural gas distribution, and a desire to transform responsive service in our industry.
In 1976 we introduced steel pipe to our portfolio and began coating and lining steel casing pipe for road boring contractors. Mr. Walker owned and operated the company for the next 42 years before retiring.
In 2014, David Blount, Jr. ( CEO), purchased the company with that same focus and service-oriented philosophy and brought with him a larger, further reaching vision.
Empire Pipe and Supply: A Present View
In 2016, Mr. Blount partnered with KaiVan Greiner. KaiVan brings with him 25 years’ experience in this industry, as well as a dedication to grow the Company by cultivating great relationships with our employees, our customers, and our vendors by providing superior service to our industry.
Since this partnership, we have grown to be a regional distributor of underground utility products in Alabama, Florida, and Georgia. We currently have 7 locations, and our customer base consists of Utility Contractors, General Contractors, Municipal Utility Districts, and Private Developers.

The Company’s philosophy is to be a world-class supplier of underground utilities for the water, sewer, and storm industries. Our daily philosophy and attitude are based on our core values of honesty, integrity, and service.
We represent many great manufacturers in this industry and value those relationships. These relationships provide great flexibility when our customers need it most. We believe in learning from our customers, our employees, and our industry to encourage a proactive thought process centered around innovation development.
We are not perfect, but we are always focused on the best interest of our customers. From the CEO down, we still start every day with “if it matters to you it matters to us!”. We look forward to serving You!
